WHAT PEOPLE SAY
At the end of the 12 weeks of practice I am pleasantly surprised to find that lung capacity has definitely improved; my resting breath rate is below 10 per minute; I am sleeping better and no longer snoring.
— Dr. Gowri Bardhan
A few years ago, I had a vision, a place of my own whereby I would be able to cater to the needs of my yoga students, and open the doors to this unique practice. Here people of all ages and backgrounds can come to learn this ancient practice which has so many benefits for health of mind and body. In times of stress people can learn simple techniques through yoga, meditation and breathing to help release tension and also increase their flexibility and strength.
Almost 2,000 years ago, Patanjali, the great Indian Sage suggested that the key to success in yoga is dedicated and uninterrupted practice over a long period of time. He offered us an instruction manual; practical steps to the art and science of living and evolving.
"Research is documenting the effectiveness of yoga therapy and suggesting specific mechanisms for how it works for such conditions as back pain, multiple sclerosis, insomnia, cancer, heart disease, and even tuberculosis. Among its many beneficial effects, yoga has been shown to increase strength, flexibility, and balance; enhance immune function; lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels; and improve psychological well-being. One of yoga's most prominent effects, of course, is stress reduction."- Dr Timothy McCall, M.D. in his book 'Yoga as Medicine'
